Position Summary

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, and located 100% on site at Surrey, BC, this position will work with the local purchasing team to meets the procurement needs of assigned commodities and/or services, including their resources, availability, price, quality and transportation needs, and will develop, monitor and improve supplier relationships.

Essential Duties and Requirements

  • Monitoring inventory levels and determining purchase needs and requirements
  • Preparing and processing purchasing orders
  • Calculate and analyze inventory statistics to provide optimal supply to manufacturing
  • Understand and review global supply replenishments to multiple manufacturing sites, along with cost economics and lead times for replenishment
  • Clear understanding of MRP replenishment techniques and make necessary changes to material allocations
  • Creates month end reports for Open PO’s, RMA, Defects and other purchasing activities to maintain monthly targets
  • Works closely with Quality team to ensure we receive product that meets our quality standards
  • Able to monitor supplier performance through SLA’s and create score cards for review
  • Good understanding of material flow nodes and links between intercompany and external suppliers
  • Actively works towards maintaining min-max optimal inventory level based on material consumption ratios/trends

Team Environment

  • Work closely with master production schedulers and inventory analyst
  • Work closely with transportation vendors to coordinate incoming material and establish/maintain process with mode of transport based on inventory level
  • Work closely with production supervisors/managers on special requirements (i.e. pricing, vendor analysis, project, pilot programs etc)
  • Support and assist on prepping and setting up templates for annual inventory count

Mindset, Skills & Education

  • Energetic, eager, tenacious!
  • Post secondary degree in procurement/Supply Chain
  • Certified or working toward APICS, Professional Logistics, and/or PMAC
  • 2 years’ work experience in procurement
  • Strong understanding of Material Management modules and function under ERP program
  • Advanced MS Excel
  • Support and assist on IT material management (MM) software analysis (cloud base)
  • Data analytics
  • Good understanding of KPI, Power BI and Dashboard settings
  • Customs parts or automotive material management in an asset
  • Excellent negotiation skills, superior communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
