In this regard, we are currently seeking a qualified candidate to for the role of Project Manager. This role reports directly to the Construction Manager and requires an outcome-oriented individual dedicated to ensuring that projects are finished on schedule, within budget, while prioritizing safety and maintaining exceptional quality standards. The ideal candidate is an ethical leader who takes pride in guiding and inspiring the project team. They work collaboratively with senior leadership, stakeholders, and project teams to collectively achieve the goal of a successful project.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage multiple construction project simultaneously, ensuring they are meeting quality, budgetary and timeline targets.
- Collaborate with senior management, stakeholders, and department heads to identify resource needs and priorities.
- Be fully accountable for project budgets, cost estimates, and forecasts, tracking expenditures and ensuring adherence to project goals.
- Oversee project procurement, trade partner selection, and contract negotiations to optimize cost-efficiency, quality, and relationship management.
- Lead project teams, including internal project teams, external stakeholders, trade partners to ensure clear communication and coordination.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities to assist where required to secure permits and their related approvals.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, quality, safety and project team health.
- Prepare monthly project status reports for internal & external stakeholders.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to handle unforeseen issues and/or delays.
- Implement Laurin standard operating processes across all construction projects which are under their oversight.
- Supervise the commissioning and handover procedures, guaranteeing that projects meet and exceed client expectations.
- Assists with pursuits, pre-construction planning and bid-closing.
- Conduct post-project evaluations and lessons-learned sessions to continuously improve the construction process and knowledge transfer.
- Mentor, coach and give feedback to direct reports.
- Provide guidance and coaching to manager on performance related matters.
- Be a brand ambassador and Laurin cultural leader.
Skills
- +5 years of progressive project management experience leading ICI projects.
- LEED and or PMP accreditation would be an asset.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office, MS Project, Primavera, Adobe-Pro, Bluebeam, Autodesk
- Strong knowledge of labour laws and regulations. Experience with construction-specific HR challenges such as union relations and safety compliance is highly desirable.
- Exceptional leadership and people management abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Education: Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction/Project Management or Technical Diploma or Certificate in similar disciplines combined with relevant experience.
Professional Designations: P.Eng., M.Eng., LEED, PMP
