Then the Compliance team in the Investments division has a position for you!

iAGMA is the portfolio manager for iA Financial Group and manages assets composed of general insurance company funds, segregated funds, mutual funds, and managed accounts, totaling over $100 billion.

The Compliance team works closely with portfolio managers and senior management to ensure that activities comply with securities legislation, internal policies and procedures, and industry practices.

As a Team Lead, in addition to acting as a subject matter expert, your role will include:

  • Planning resources, recruiting, developing, and evaluating team members’ performance;
  • Managing, developing, engaging, and motivating team members to help them achieve set objectives;
  • Prioritizing initiatives and allocating appropriate resources to various projects;
  • Ensuring continuity in portfolio monitoring activities and compliance with regulations and investment policies;
  • Participating in the improvement and maintenance of investment constraints coding in Bloomberg;
  • Coordinating and contributing to the development of complementary technological tools for monitoring complex investment strategies and constraints;
  • Defining and tracking the team’s KPIs;
  • Identifying and implementing necessary corrections and improvements to strengthen the monitoring program;
  • Overseeing the implementation and effectiveness of the operational risk management program, including risk and control assessments;
  • Overseeing the implementation and effectiveness of the personal information protection program;
  • Ensuring the business continuity plan is up to date and functioning properly;
  • Providing interpretations to business units regarding legislative changes;
  • Staying informed about industry best practices in monitoring;
  • Creating and maintaining processes, controls, frameworks, and compliance policies applicable to portfolio monitoring;
  • Coordinating various compliance projects in collaboration with business units (portfolio management, trading, and systems);
  • Creating and deploying solutions to enhance operational process efficiency;
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with business units to foster a collaborative spirit.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, law, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience;
  • CSI courses or other financial designations (e.g., CFA) are an asset;
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg and compliance modules (CMGR, VMGR) or similar systems;
  • Excellent knowledge of financial products and applicable regulations;
  • Ability to build and evolve digital solutions supporting compliance;
  • Ability to maximize the team’s analytical and data-driven capabilities;
  • High proficiency in spoken and written French;
  • Advanced proficiency in English, as the role involves providing guidance and answering questions from internal partners in the Investments sector to ensure continuity in portfolio monitoring. These interactions occur daily via email and videoconference;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills to ensure deliverable accuracy;
  • Strategic thinking and strong understanding of business needs;
  • Motivated, autonomous, and proactive in workload management and professional development;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally at all levels;
  • Process improvement skills and creativity in finding innovative solutions;
  • Team spirit and motivation to help the team meet deadlines;
