About the role
We are looking to hire a Housekeeper to join our team at Stepping Stones Crisis Society. The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and overall maintenance of our facilities, helping provide a welcoming and safe environment for everyone we serve.
Duties:
- Clean common areas, offices, restrooms, and program spaces (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, windows, and surfaces).
- Track and restock cleaning supplies and consumables.
- Handle laundry, including washing, drying, and folding.
- Monitor cleanliness and promptly address or report maintenance issues.
- Empty trash, recycling, and hazardous materials safely and appropriately.
- Maintain organized storage areas, including donations.
- Disinfect high-touch surfaces regularly to reduce health risks.
- Follow health and safety standards, including safe chemical handling.
- Perform additional cleaning and organizational tasks as assigned.
The ideal candidate would:
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Have prior housekeeping, custodial, or related experience (preferred).
- Be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently.
- Have knowledge of cleaning products and equipment safety.
- Be physically able to lift up to 25 lbs and perform repetitive cleaning tasks.
- Demonstrate sensitivity and confidentiality when working in a social services setting.
- Hold a valid Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Check.
- First Aid/CPR is an asset.
