About the role
Join the Chief Risk Officer Team, in the Specialist, Quality Assurance (Regulatory Compliance) position. Your strong knowledge of regulatory compliance risk management will ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, frameworks and authorities to provide management with confidence in the operations of the business.
What you’ll do:

Develop the framework for compliance requirements risk assessments including identifying key sectors and areas of exposure and the parameters for risk assessments, relying on expertise and assistance from Legal Services.

Promote an effective compliance culture, including delivery of training session to business units and provide ad-hoc support.
-
Coordinate with business units to ensure compliance risk assessments are performed on a timely basis and are well documented and substantiated, assessing rigor and consistency across the organization.

Conduct oversight of ongoing compliance monitoring/control testing, and aggregate and report corporate wide results to Senior Management.

Evaluate areas of vulnerability and provide directive leadership for the implementation of corrective actions for their resolution.
-
Recommend and assist in the implementation of key performance and/or risk indicators and/or outcome targets to improve business effectiveness and efficiency.

Analyze data sets and compile information to provide management with quantitative and qualitative information for decision making.

Provide guidance to staff regarding quality control and risk management improvements to enhance business operations.
What you should have:
-
An undergraduate degree in a related field such as accounting, business, finance, law or economics.
-
A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a compliance or auditing function.

Demonstrated knowledge of legislations, regulations and guidelines which apply to Government/Crown Corporations and experience in applying these concepts, practices and procedures in a risk management function.

Excellent interpersonal skills (tact, judgment, diplomacy, professionalism, and political sensitivity).
-
Superior oral and written communication skills including reporting and presentation skills.
-
A demonstrated experience in project management and organizational skills initiating, developing and managing multiple projects.

The ability to research issues, analyze problems, synthesize information and make recommendations.
-
The ability to identify training needs, prepare and deliver training.
It would be great if you also had:

A professional designation such as CPA (Certified Professional Accountant).
