The Director of Golf is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational management for all aspects of the golf facility. This includes oversight of membership programs, golf events, and professional staff, ensuring that all activities align with the club’s mission and standards of excellence. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of golf industry trends, and a passion for delivering exceptional golf experiences. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve revenue targets, enhance guest satisfaction, and drive membership growth.
  • Direct and supervise all golf operations, including tee time reservations, golf shop management, golf instruction, and tournament/event coordination.
  • Foster a culture of exceptional customer service among staff, ensuring that members and guests receive personalized attention and a memorable golfing experience.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and promote golf packages, special events, retail promotions and membership offerings to attract new guests and retain existing members.
  • Golf operation scheduling – front and back shop.
  • Responsible for golf inventory purchasing, inventory reconciliation and cost of inventory sales.
  • Manage the golf budget, monitor expenses, and analyze financial performance metrics to identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, rules changes, and best practices in golf course management, and incorporate innovations to improve operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain close working relationship with Golf Course Superintendent and other department heads.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and safety standards governing golf operations and facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • PGA membership or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in golf management or related leadership roles, with a proven track record of success in driving revenue and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of golf industry trends, rules, and best practices, with a passion for golf and a commitment to excellence.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with members, guests, vendors, and staff at all levels.
  • Proficiency in golf management software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and other relevant technology tools.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
