About the role

Job Description We currently have an opening for a Junior Transportation Planning Engineer, located in our Vancouver office. The successful candidate will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team involved in multi-modal and active transportation planning, traffic engineering, functional roadway plans, road safety studies, traffic impact studies, traffic management plans, signal planning and design, and traffic micro and macro modelling for provincial, municipal, residential, commercial and industrial infrastructure projects. Working with other members of our team, you will perform traffic analysis, conduct site visits, contribute to engineering reports, and assist with project management tasks. In this role you will work on important projects, collaborate with and learn from experienced and talented team, and have the opportunity to grow in your skills and experience, while making a valuable contribution to the company.

Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution. A masters degree in transportation engineering or planning is an asset.
  • Knowledge of principles, theories, and practices required to undertake traffic engineering and transportation planning assignments.
  • Registered, or eligible to register as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in British Columbia, with intent to obtain a professional designation (P.Eng.).
  • Understanding of transportation software packages is an asset (e.g., HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, EMME, Vistro, SIDRA).
  • 1+ years of relevant experience working on traffic engineering and transportation planning projects is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, highly organized, and strong ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment.

The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 and is commensurate with experience relative to this position.
