Description
IAMGOLD is seeking a dynamic and hands-on Manager, Health, Safety & Training – Exploration to lead and embed a proactive, risk-based Health & Safety culture across our exploration and early-stage project activities. This role plays a critical part in supporting safe, efficient field operations by strengthening systems, building capability, and fostering strong safety leadership across exploration teams.
Working closely with Exploration leadership, the Manager will design, implement, and continuously improve Health & Safety systems, field practices, and training programs tailored to exploration environments. This includes supporting teams in identifying and managing risks related to remote operations, drilling activities, camp logistics, and early works, while ensuring alignment with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
The role will also lead the development and delivery of targeted training and competency programs, helping to build workforce capability and reinforce critical risk management practices. Acting as a trusted advisor, the Manager will support incident investigations, analyze performance trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen both safety outcomes and operational effectiveness.
In close collaboration with internal stakeholders, this position ensures that contractor safety programs meet company standards and are effectively implemented in the field. The role also supports leadership development, promoting a culture of accountability, engagement, and frontline risk ownership.
Bonus to be paid in addition to salary.
Qualifications
We’re looking for a collaborative and results-driven professional with a degree in Health & Safety or a related field, complemented by 10+ years of experience in complex operational environments such as mining, exploration, or forestry. Strong knowledge of Health & Safety systems, experience leading training and competency programs, and fluency in both English and French are essential. Professional certifications such as CRSP, CRST, or NEBOSH are considered strong assets.
