Role Overview
eBay is on a journey of building up differentiated positions in key categories. This role will support those efforts in our large and sought after Parts & Accessories (P&A) business. eBay has one of the largest range of P&A inventory in the world. This category is a major priority for eBay and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to help drive this business to the next level.
The Category Manager will support our existing sellers and source new sellers ensuring their successful transition on the platform for long term sustainable growth. The focus will be on a broad array of categories within P&A across our domestic (Canadian to Canadian) business as well as imports and exports with key markets such as the US. The role reports into the Head of P&A and will be a key member of the Verticals team.
Responsibilities
- Own the growth strategy and performance of assigned P&A category sellers, with accountability for driving GMV growth, improving seller health, and delivering an elevated buyer experience
- Build trusted, strategic relationships with key sellers and brand partners to improve inventory coverage, pricing competitiveness, listing quality, promotion participation, and overall marketplace performance
- Work cross-functionally with Canadian and Global teams, including Marketing, Comms, Shipping, Business Development, Product, Customer Service, Analytics, and Operations, to deliver category outcomes
- Monitor key performance metrics (gross merchandise volume, pricing, inventory, discoverability, customer satisfaction, etc.) and react to drive business
- Partner closely with the US P&A team to identify, adapt, and implement proven strategies, programs, and best practices that can accelerate growth in Canada
- Support campaigns to acquire and develop loyalty amongst Automotive enthusiasts, both onsite and offsite
- Prepare executive-ready updates on category performance, strategic opportunities, risks, and recommended actions
What you need to succeed:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience with growing responsibility in Merchandising, Buying, Category Management/Account Management in an online retail or marketplace environment
- Demonstrated ability to own a category, seller portfolio, or commercial growth agenda with measurable business impact
- Prior experience within the Automotive/Parts & Accessories industry is an asset
- Strong negotiations skills with external partners
- Strong attention to detail with the sense of responsibility for the flawless execution of assigned tasks
- Strong organizational skills, a self-starter, and the discipline to get things done in ambiguity while working on multiple projects or partner engagements simultaneously
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data, identify opportunities, and translate insights into action
- Advanced MS Excel and MS Office skills; SQL fluency preferred
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
- Experience in buying and selling on eBay an asset

Additional Details
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
C$85,600 - C$114,300
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including RRSP eligibility, various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
