Clinical Manager Withdrawal Management and Substance Use Services
About the role
The Mental Health and Addictions Service is recruiting for a Clinical Manager Withdrawal Management and Substance Use Services. This opportunity will be of interest to a results orientated individual who is seeking to create better care experiences for people who use substances.
In the role of Clinical Leader/Manager, you will provide exemplary clinical leadership to a multi-disciplinary team and manage the day-to-day clinical, financial and human resources of Residential Withdrawal Management Services at Glendale House and Substance Use Services including the Rapid Access to Addictions Medicine Service and Addictions Consultation Service at SJHC. The successful candidate will promote excellence in all aspects of service delivery on both an operational and strategic level. The Clinical Leader/Manager must be able to work in a collaborative, open and client-centered approach with patients, families, community stakeholders and interprofessional staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for clinical service delivery/program planning and evaluation, quality and human resource management.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accountable for maintaining efficient, effective operations within a defined fiscal envelope and day to day management while ensuring professional practice and staff development are in keeping with changing needs
- Promotes best practices and evidence based care through the implementation of initiatives that are aligned with strategic directions of the organization
- Responsible for ensuring that roles, responsibilities, functions and care delivery models continue to evolve to meet changing patient/family, departmental and corporate needs
- Develops and evaluates quality improvement initiatives in focus areas
- Seeks, communicates and implements mental health best practice knowledge about methodological approaches to achieving improvements in patient access and flow
- Participates actively in Program specific and Hospital-wide initiatives through Committee and Task Force membership, Hospital planning and management forums
QUALFICATIONS:
- Regulated Health Professional in nursing or health disciplines
- Registration in good standing with a regulatory college (nursing, social work, occupational therapy)
- Completed Masters degree in a health discipline, patient safety, quality and risk management or business administration
- Subject matter expertise in substance use care and treatment (specialty training and work experience) is required
- Previous leadership experience in a mental health and/or substance use setting required
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, superior communication, coaching and team building skills that facilitate positive interactions among all members of the health care team
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive learning culture and facilitate the achievement of evidence based quality care with optimal outcomes
- Demonstrated collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience designing, planning and managing change
- Strong commitment to best practices and innovation in patient care delivery
- Demonstrated experience managing physical, human resource, financial and management skills and experience
- Demonstrated excellent budgeting and financial management skills
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities and execute required work roles in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education required
- Excellent record of attendance and punctuality
