Red Diamond is a small game studio located in Halifax, Nova Scotia dedicated to publishing unique and memorable games. At Red Diamond, we explore the boundaries of games by publishing mobile games, tabletop games, and games that bridge those two worlds.
About the Role
Red Diamond is seeking a game designer to work on an upcoming dark fantasy mobile game, designing unique and fulfilling, balanced mechanics to be implemented by the game's creative team.
This designer will create key mechanics, battle progressions, and stats for creatures, characters, and items. if hired at a higher pay band, this role will also coordinate sprints and support task schedules. Experience in game design, project lifecycles, a passion for games, and a strong sense of teamwork & empathy are essential qualifications.
Qualifications
- Experience with game design, including creating engaging gameplay systems and mechanics
- Experience with balancing systems and understanding the math behind fulfilling player progression
- Familiarity with designing for mobile games (optionally, tabletop games as well)
- Experience with project management systems (Ex. Monday) a plus
- Experience with creative writing a plus
- Strong sense of teamwork, a passion for games, and empathy
