The salary range for this role is $119,000.00 to $148,700.00. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.

Position Summary

The role is responsible for defining and executing a strategic direction and action plan for the Bottling Division to enhance competitiveness and align operations with the goals set by Hiram Walker & Sons Limited. This includes ensuring excellence in Customer Service, Quality, Delivery, Product, Safety, Environmental practices, and Employee Health & Safety. As a senior leader, the position will challenge existing norms, lead transformational initiatives, and drive projects to completion on time and within budget. The role also focuses on developing organizational capabilities, fostering talent, and ensuring sustainable succession planning and high employee engagement. As a key member of the site leadership team, this position will promote continuous improvement, encourage cross-functional collaboration, and identify opportunities to maximize site performance and profitability.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Develop and implement business strategy for the Bottling Department to drive operational efficiency and growth. Provide input on bottling opportunities by evaluating line additions, utilization, and flexibility to optimize operations. Manage annual operating and overhead budgets while executing action plans that promote efficiency and cost control. Lead and mentor teams, including managers, supervisors, and technical/business support staff, ensuring alignment with business goals and performance expectations. Foster high-performance work teams focused on customer service and results, motivating employees through effective coaching, communication, and training development. Champion continuous improvement efforts by utilizing Lean Manufacturing tools, specifically in changeovers, first-hour efficiency, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), and cost per case. Collaborate on the adoption of emerging technologies to drive automation and enhance bottling efficiency. Work closely with logistics, planning, and raw materials teams to identify efficiencies, meet inventory targets, and ensure optimal customer service levels. Lead change management initiatives to deliver business results while maintaining employee engagement and ensuring Union leadership support. Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act (Sections 25, 26, 27, and 28) as per Hiram Walker & Sons Ltd. policy on worker safety responsibilities. Oversee the timely execution of ISO 18001, 9001, 22000, and 14001 programs, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards. Ensure timely corrective actions are taken on observations and non-conformances to maintain operational standards.

Key Requirements

Proven experience in change management and implementation within bottling operations and workforce initiatives. Advanced regulatory and technical expertise with a deep understanding of industry standards. Strong financial acumen, including experience in budgeting and financial management. Experience working in a unionized environment is considered an asset. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) with advanced computer skills.

Education: Technical Degree in Engineering or Business

Experience / Background: 5-10 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment, specializing in Lean, SMED, TPM, and Six Sigma methodologies.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Dedicated self-starter with excellent project management skills. Motivated, energetic, critical thinker and problem-solver who is highly organized. Comfortable with ambiguity and establishing a direction on one’s own, with frequent support but without requiring constant supervision. Ability to initiate, build, and manage cohesive partnerships and professional relationships at all levels of the organization both internally and externally. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to facilitate/present information to audiences at all levels of the organization, gearing communication toward the target audience; ability to communicate at a high level with an impeccable detail orientation and a focus on customer service and relationships. Ability to analyze a problem/question, prioritize, and determine the level of intervention or escalation necessary. Capable of quickly adapting to shifting priorities and deadlines, managing multiple varied projects simultaneously in a high-volume, fast-paced environment Ability to build and create data, analyze statistics, identify trends, and proactively make balanced, objective recommendations and realistic action plans to achieve maximum results.
