About the role
The successful candidate will contribute to River Class Destroyer (RCD) project as a member of our Integration, Test, and Evaluation (ITE) Cross Product Team (CPT):
- Development of Combat System Integration Lab (CSIL) test and trials for the Lockheed Martin Canada scope of supply
- Participate in the activation and operation of the CSIL including Combat Management System (CMS) and Operating Environment (OE), and interface/integration with other subsystems
- Identify and resolve Combat System (CS) integration issues so that priority defects are corrected to meet testing schedules
- Identify and resolve System Problem Reports (SPRs) so that priority defects are corrected to meet testing schedules
- Review and analyze test results and report findings as necessary for the integration and functional testing
- Works with sub-team leads to forward plan the teams' work
- Conduct regression Testing for all delivered CMS builds including full baseline testing
- Coordinate with other specialty engineering leads including Safety, Cyber Security, and Human Systems Integration to ensure testing is comprehensive
- Responsive to ship identified problems to include specific testing and identifying rectification paths
- Support Configuration Management (CM) of all equipment installed in the CSIL for any change in configuration
- Responsible to oversee the conduct of sub-system software regression testing on delivered sub-system software providing recommendation for acceptance and further release to ships
Planning
- Ensure all CS equipment is properly configured for test events
- Coordinate test engineering team in data collection and analysis for summary report, problem isolation and problem resolution. This includes the collection of Technical Performance Measurements (TPMs)
- Ensure defects are documented utilizing the problem reporting process
- Support customer familiarization with entire CS equipment, maintenance and operations
Reporting
- Provides status and metrics to the CSIL ITE lead as required
- Brings issues that impact planned test events to senior leadership in real time
- Maintains current metrics for SPRs
- Attend daily stand-up to report out on major issues
What you bring to the role
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma from an accredited university in an engineering discipline and/or combined technical experience
- 2 years or more of professional experience
- Test and trials experience
- Experience working within a team of diverse skillsets
- Must be willing to support schedule including evenings and weekends, as required
- Must have an aptitude for solving challenging problems in a team environment
- Must have a high degree of initiative and autonomy
- Must be able to obtain a NATO Secret security clearance
Additional skills desired for the role
- Experience with combat systems in the Naval domain
- Software and/or hardware integration experience
- Experience with IBM DOORS
- Experience with networks and networking tools
- Experience with Agile Scrum methodology
- Familiarity with software development and test
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
- Familiarity with Linux
- Active NATO Secret security clearance
