Position Summary Trulioo is committed to accelerating trust in the digital economy. We’re hiring a full-stack Principal Product Designer with strong AI-assisted design skills to shape multi-platform identity verification experiences at Trulioo. In this role, you will be crucial in creating cohesive, intuitive experiences across a broad range of customer journeys and product contexts, including cross-platform workflows, dashboards, mobile experiences, and Trulioo's full suite of identity verification solutions.
We need a proactive, thoughtful individual who is comfortable shaping opportunities, driving initiatives independently, and partnering closely with cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful impact.
This is a full-time hybrid position based out of our Mount Pleasant office in Vancouver with three in-office days per week.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design Leadership: Drive the end-to-end design process for Trulioo's identity solution products, delivering high-quality, cohesive experiences across mobile and multi-platform environments.
- User-Centered Practices: Apply core user-centered design practices through discovery, problem framing, journey mapping, and iterative refinement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner deeply with Product, Engineering, and Research teams to explore, validate, and deliver effective solutions.
- Complexity to Clarity: Translate complex verification and onboarding workflows into clear, intuitive interaction patterns, flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity, implementation-ready designs.
- Data-Informed Decisions: Incorporate customer insights, research findings, and product data into the design decision-making process.
- Proactive Ownership: Identify gaps, elevate opportunities, and proactively push solutions beyond initial requests, contributing to the evolution of product patterns and experience foundations for consistency and scalability.
- Stakeholder Communication: Clearly present and communicate design rationale and decisions to stakeholders across all levels.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: 8+ years as a Product Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing multi-platform work, including mobile experience design and diverse product surfaces.
- Core Design Strength: Proficiency in UX, interaction design, visual design, and prototyping.
- Complex Systems: Demonstrated experience designing complex, multi-step workflows or data-rich interfaces.
- Collaboration: Highly collaborative working style with hands-on experience partnering closely with Engineering and Product teams.
- Design Mindset: Demonstrated ability to apply user-centered and research-informed design practices; comfortable bringing clarity to ambiguous, evolving product spaces.
- Figma Mastery: Expert-level proficiency with Figma for design, prototyping, and collaboration, including a deep understanding of components, variants, and auto-layout for scalable design systems.
- AI Tools: Hands-on experience with AI-assisted design tools (e.g., Vibe Coding or similar) to accelerate exploration and prototyping.
- Proactivity: A proactive mindset and the ability to identify opportunities and drive initiatives independently.
- Mentorship: Mentor designers and help elevate design quality.
- Location & Authorization: Must be able to work onsite in our Vancouver office (hybrid model) and already have legal authorization to work in Canada.
Nice To Have
- Experience in high-growth areas like fintech, identity verification, risk, compliance, or B2B SaaS.
- Experience leading workshops, discovery sessions, or cross-functional alignment activities.
- Background in designing for both internal tools and customer-facing products.
- Comfort contributing to and evolving product foundations and scalable experience patterns (Design Systems).
- Experience mentoring designers or shaping design direction within complex product spaces.
- Skills in motion graphics or micro-interaction design (e.g., animated prototypes or motion-enhanced UI flows).
