Reporting to the Platform Solution Architect Lead, the Microsoft 365 Platform Solution Owner is responsible for defining and
executing the strategic direction and roadmap for the Microsoft 365 platform in alignment with Manitoba Hydro's enterprise goals and
objectives. This role acts as a key enabler of business transformation, ensuring the platform is leveraged to enhance the digital
employee experience, drive productivity, and support strategic initiatives.

This role reviews and prioritizes incoming demand for the platform and oversees the solution design and architecture for
platform-related implementations and changes, ensuring the platform evolution is guided by business value, risk mitigation, and
enterprise architecture principles. Additionally, this role provides guidance to technical and enablement teams, directs release
coordination, and collaborates closely with the platform System Administrator and other specialists.

Key to this role is possessing a deep understanding of the platform capabilities, both functional and technical, and the ability to
translate business needs into platform solutions. The Solution Owner is a recognized thought leader who influences senior leader
decisions, drives platform adoption across the enterprise, and maintains a strong relationship with Microsoft to stay ahead of
emerging capabilities and roadmap developments.

Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly understands the platform's configuration and use within Manitoba Hydro; identifies areas for improvement in line

with enterprise goals and objectives.

  • Maintains a significant relationship with the platform vendor and understands the overall platform and product roadmaps

including Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Viva, Copilot, Exchange Online, and related services including Microsoft 365
security.

  • Develops and maintains a Manitoba Hydro specific technology roadmap for the platform in support of the enterprise goals and

objectives.

  • Understands the landscape of Manitoba Hydro's technology environment and collaborates with colleagues across Digital &

Technology (D&T) including security, infrastructure, and operations.

  • Supports prioritization of new business requests, creates t-shirt size estimates for new demand or features based on

understanding of the requirements, and partners with product teams to review and prioritize the backlog of features/changes
specific to the platform.

  • Reduces risk by designing and/or reviewing solution architecture for solutions utilizing the platform, ensuring alignment to

enterprise architecture and directs proper release coordination of changes.

  • Leads, oversees, and implements increasingly complex projects involving multiple systems with corporate-wide impacts.
  • Assists in triaging and supporting L3 and L4 tickets, in collaboration with vendors and D&T colleagues, to ensure sufficient

resolution.

  • Participates in business and technology governance forums as a cross-functional representative of the Digital & Technology

(D&T) product teams.

Qualifications:

  • A four year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related disciplines from a university of

recognized standing with a minimum of five years of directly applicable experience.
OR

  • A two year diploma in Computer Programming Technology from an institute of recognized standing with a minimum of seven

years of directly applicable experience.

  • Hands-on experience as a Microsoft 365 Solution Architect with a proven track record in architecting and implementing

enterprise solutions using the Microsoft 365 platform.

  • Advanced proficiency of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Viva, Copilot,

and related services) including Microsoft 365 security (identity management, data protection, and compliance).

  • Understanding of integrations between Microsoft 365 with other enterprise platforms (e.g., SAP, ServiceNow, Esri, Power

Platform) to enhance the design of comprehensive solutions.

  • Relevant Microsoft certifications and training in Microsoft 365.
  • Strong familiarity with cloud services and deployment models, particularly Microsoft Azure.
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills with demonstrated experience of platform development, architecture, integration,

configuration, and delivery including building or evolving products in a complex, matrixed organization, preferably in the Power
and Utilities sector.

  • Strong understanding of adjacent technologies including identity, security, endpoint management, vulnerability management,

asset management, IT service management, analytics, etc.

  • Ability to engage in problem analysis and the research of potential solutions while acting as a consultant to others in defining

the effectiveness of proposed solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, influence and motivate others, and initiate action.
  • Exceptional stakeholder partnership and collaboration; able to work across different functions, internal and external

stakeholders to understand, empathize, and bridge multiple perspectives.

  • Must obtain and maintain a current Personnel Risk Assessment and a "Clear" security rating in accordance with Manitoba

Hydro policy P513.

  • Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Training is required and must be completed prior to the transfer date and renewed

annually.

Salary Range

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $47.22-$65.19 Hourly,
$90,484.68-$124,925.58 Annually.
