Responsibilities
- Clean all dishes, pots, and inserts
- Keeps dish area clean and neat and tidy
- Maintain kitchen/dining room cleaning to excellent standards
- Knowledge, understanding and practice of Emergency Procedures and Policies
- Responsible for ensuring a safe and and sanitary environment is provided and maintained
- Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling and chopping vegetables
- Help with setting up and organizing kitchen station for food preparation
- Responsible for ensuring that a safe and sanitary environment is provided
- Makes efforts to reduce safety hazards, accidents and injuries for staff and residents
- Report of any deficiencies in the kitchen to your immediate supervisor
- Responsible for ensuring that a safe and sanitary environment is provided for staff and residents; makes efforts to reduce safety hazards, accidents and injuries
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications And Experience
- Food Safe Certificate is an asset
- Previous experience in foodservice facilities is considered an asset
- Demonstrates an awareness of accident and injury prevention; adheres to safe work practices and procedures; and is responsible for maintaining self-wellness and reduced absenteeism
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to set priorities, re-adjust routines and deal with repetitive activities
- Ability to organize duties with minimal supervision
- Demonstrates solid observational skills and problem solving abilities
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, squat, kneel and lift over 20 pounds
