Could you be the full-time Human Factors/Ergonomics Engineer in Kingston or St Bruno we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your human factors and ergonomics expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll contribute to the development of projects and offers by implementing internal procedures, instructions, and guidelines specific to the human factors/ergonomics discipline. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as design, engineering, and R&D teams), conduct ergonomic assessments, and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of activities such as human factors/ergonomics assessments using tools like Catia V5 and Human Builder, and conducting human posture and activity analysis. You’ll also focus on assessing display interfaces, defining design rules, and performing workload and risk identification studies.
We’ll look to you for:
- Contributing to Alstom programs and projects with expertise in human factors/ergonomics
- Providing recommendations for cabin and car designs, including seats and footrests
- Conducting human factors-related risk analysis and workload evaluations
- Specifying passenger needs in the areas of services and information
- Assessing display screens and possibly specifying their requirements
- Performing platform, pre-project, and project simulations for cab visibility and workplace accessibility
- Developing and promoting the use of mock-ups for cabin and car layouts
- Defining and deploying processes and tools for simulation and assessment
- Developing and maintaining libraries of manikins, driver desks, seats, and footrests
- Collaborating with regions, platforms, and universities to collect feedback and promote technical advancements
- Performing active technical watch and regular progress reporting

- Degree in Human Factors, Ergonomics, or a related field
- Experience or understanding of ergonomics and human factors skills, including postural and cognitive analysis
- Knowledge of simulation tools and methodologies for ergonomics (e.g., HTA, RULA, REBA)
- Familiarity with workload analysis (e.g., NASA-TLX) and human reliability analysis methods (e.g., THERP, HEART)
- A strong understanding of standards and regulations such as TSI, UIC 651, EN 16186, and ISO 9241
- Proficiency in both French and English
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, time management, and a structured and organized approach
- Desirable skills: Experience with Catia V5, DMA, Human Builder, Human Posture Analysis, and Virtual Reality tools
