About Embross

Embross designs and builds the self-service technology that moves millions of travelers every day at the world's busiest airports.

Designing for our users means designing for everyone: business travelers in a rush, families with children going on vacation, first-time flyers, travelers who don't speak the local language, and passengers with accessibility needs all with a view towards fast, simple and seamless user experiences that get travelers to their. You haven’t mastered interaction design until you’ve facilitated a stressed and hurried traveler trying to get to their flight.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced UI/UX Designer to join our Application and Web product team and help shape the next generation of service automation experiences for global travel. You'll own the design of customer-facing solutions from research through to handoff, working closely with marketing, product managers*, and engineers to design user journeys across our portfolio of solutions.*

Your designs will be touched by hundreds of thousands of real travelers, on real hardware, in real airports within weeks of shipping.

What You'll Do

  • Design end-to-end experiences for self-service solutions such as kiosks, self bag drop, biometric and passport control as well as range of agent support solutions and more.— wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity UI, and motion specs.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing, including occasional on-site observation in airport environments.
  • Partner with airline and airport clients to design custom solutions as needed as you translate operational requirements into intuitive passenger flows.
  • Build and maintain design system components in Figma alongside our engineering team.
  • Accommodate accessibility (WCAG, ADA) and multilingual design across all touchpoints.
  • Collaborate daily with business analysts, architects, and developers to ensure designs are technically feasible and faithfully implemented.

What You'll Bring

  • 8+ years of UI/UX design experience for shipped digital products.
  • A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design work, research, IA, interaction design, and visual polish.
  • Strong proficiency in Figma.
  • Solid grasp of accessibility principles and inclusive design.
  • Excellent communication skills you can present design decisions clearly to non-designers and incorporate feedback constructively.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, cross-functional team, both independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to travel
  • A solid grasp of the latest generation of AI tools and their role in modern UI/UX design flows

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing for mobile platforms with shipped examples
  • Experience designing self-service experiences.
  • General familiarity with HTML/CSS enough to communicate fluently with front-end developers and understand technical constraints
  • Experience working within or contributing to a design system

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary with bonus potential
  • Extended health, vision, and wellness benefits
  • RRSP matching
  • Employee assistance program
  • Company events and on-site parking
  • Monday–Friday schedule
  • The chance to design experiences used by millions of travelers worldwide
