BGC Okanagan is hiring a CYSN Family Support Worker!
The CYSN Family Support Worker provides intensive, hands-on, wraparound support to families through outreach in their homes and community settings. This role focuses on meeting the complex needs of children and youth by offering individualized, strength-based, and solution-focused services. The Family Support Worker collaborates with families to build on their strengths, address barriers, and help them achieve their unique goals. This is a temporary position until March 31, 2026.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Collaborate with families to identify goals and create individualized, strengths-based service plans.

Provide immediate, solution-focused, and strengths-based support during family crises.
-
Contribute to developing, modifying, and evaluating service plans with the case management team; participate regularly in integrated meetings to report family progress.

Outlines program and organizational services; offer information and referrals to community resources and professionals as needed.

Deliver skill-building sessions for families, individually or in groups, on caregiver-child interaction, child development, behavior support, and communication.

Offer emotional support, feedback, and advocacy for caregiver relief.

Plan and facilitate group educational sessions tailored to participants’ needs.

Liaise and advocate for families with community agencies, professionals, and schools; accompany families to meetings and appointments when necessary.

Maintain accurate records, compile statistics, and submit required reports to supervisors and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications:

Degree or Diploma in a related human/social service field.
-
One (1) year recent related experience.

Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
-
Class 5 driver’s licence, and a vehicle with business insurance
Hours: 35 hours per week; schedule varies based on family needs.
Rate of Pay: $29.17 per hour
