About the role

About the Role SuperQ is seeking a Quantum Algorithms Engineer to design, prototype, and implement quantum and hybrid algorithms on the Super Platform - our AI-driven supercomputing environment integrating closely-coupled GPU and Quantum-based compute infrastructure. The successful candidate will focus heavily on Quantum Optimization and Quantum Machine Learning (QML), ensuring seamless co-processing between classical accelerators and quantum hardware. Responsibilities

Design and implement quantum and hybrid algorithms, focusing heavily on Quantum Optimization (e.g., QAOA, VQE, QUBO), advanced gate-model routines, and Quantum Machine Learning (QML) applications. Work closely with the engineering team to integrate these algorithms into the Super Platform’s architecture, optimizing the tight, low-latency interplay between GPU accelerators and Quantum Processing Units (QPUs). Benchmark algorithmic performance across quantum annealing, gate-based quantum, and classical solvers. Contribute to the core platform build: improve quantum-classical orchestration, performance tuning, and deployment pipelines. Collaborate with domain leads (e.g., healthcare, logistics, manufacturing, finance) to tailor algorithm modules for industry-specific problem statements. Produce reproducible notebooks, performance dashboards, automated test suites, and documentation for algorithm modules.

Requirements

3–5 years of experience in quantum computing, scientific computing, optimization or a closely related field. Master’s degree or PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical/Computer Engineering (or equivalent); Master’s strongly preferred. Proficiency in Quantum Gate-based computing libraries and SDKs (e.g., Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane, TKET) as well as cloud quantum services (e.g., AWS Braket). Strong programming skills: Python required; experience with libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, and quantum-specific frameworks. Solid mathematical foundations: linear algebra, graph theory, and advanced Quantum Optimization techniques (QUBO, Ising-models, QAOA, Parameterized Quantum Circuits, MILP). Experience in hybrid GPU-Quantum workflows, managing workloads across heterogeneous compute environments, performance benchmarking, and algorithmic optimization. Ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Bonus: hands-on experience with GPU-Quantum co-processing tools (specifically NVIDIA CUDA-Q), direct quantum hardware exposure, open-source contributions, or published work in QML or Quantum Optimization.

Benefits

Competitive salary with performance-based bonus structure. Stock options / equity participation – be part of the upside of a foundational platform in quantum + classical + AI. Flexible work arrangements – choose your Canadian/US location, hybrid office/remote as fits your style. Professional development budget: attend conferences (Quantum/AI/HPC), certifications, workshops. Access to cutting-edge hardware – quantum access, HPC clusters, GPUs for experimentation and personal innovation time.

Work Culture

We foster a collaborative research-meets-engineering environment: you will sit at the intersection of cutting-edge quantum methods and real-world systems. Flat organisation, open communication: bring ideas, experiment, iterate. Ownership mindset: you will own modules end-to-end, from prototype to production. Strong emphasis on learning, curiosity, and innovation – we expect you to push boundaries and help build the future of computing. Global & diverse team: though based in Canada, you’ll work across time zones collaborating with UAE, US, Europe. Focus on work-life balance: flexible hours, remote-friendly, and inclusive of personal commitments.
