Responsibilities
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Assistant is responsible for the processing and posting of payments, generating financial reports and excel summaries, EFT payments, and responding to financial questions from physicians. Areas of responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
General Ledger and Reporting: maintain the general ledger for various income streams and expenses, prepare journal entries, perform monthly/year-end closing procedures and generate financial reports.
Generate physician financial payment reports, reconcile to multiple supporting source documents, EFT payment, reconcile to GL and quarterly report summaries,
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage the full AR/AP cycle including coding, processing vendor invoices, issuing client invoices.
Other duties
Maintain online banking portal, purchase orders, onboarding of new physicians, preparation of quarterly summaries to support general ledger. Other back up and support to the Financial Controller as required.
Basic requirements:
- 1-2 year post-secondary accounting certificate or diploma, or relevant field of study.
- Minimum 3-5 years , bookkeeping/ full cycle accounting experience, or experience in a similar field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Word and accounting software (SAGE or similar).
- Sold understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Preference for experience in hospital setting billing or sub-specialty medical billing, including cardiology.
- Knowledge of Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Schedule of Benefits, and reconciliation.
- Bilingualism an asset.

- Able to work within multidisciplinary teams and independently with a high degree of organization and attention to detail.
- Self-Directed and able to take initiative, to meet deadlines, be flexible and effectively prioritize within a fast-paced. environment

- Highly reliable.
