Here we GROW again! Bradford Greenhouses Ltd. is looking for a handy-man to join our team as a Facility Maintenance Technician at our Wholesale facility in Bradford, ON.

Facilities Maintenance Manager
Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing onsite maintenance to powered equipment, greenhouse structures, lawn maintenance, repair items, “general handyman” situations. This individual will perform highly diversified duties to troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance. The Facilities Maintenance Technician shall be responsible for keeping work areas clean and orderly. Maintaining a mobile inventory of parts and tools may be required. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.
Job Duties:
- Conduct basic maintenance (scheduled, preventative) on all powered equipment (forklift, loader, lawnmower, trailers); checking/repairing lights, greasing, belt adjustments/replacing belts, flat tire changes, brake inspections, inspect/replace hydraulic lines, basic trouble shooting.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment onsite.
- Perform maintenance skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, small engine maintenance, plumbing, and repair of production machines.
- Keep accurate records of jobs through maintenance work order tracking system (Fiix)
- Perform general cleanup of work sites.
- Assist team members with greenhouse maintenance (mounting doors, checking hooks, repairing vents/leaks/benches)
- Assist team members with the repairing and maintaining of racks (wheels/tow hooks/bend posts)
- Maintain and/or has working knowledge of environmental safeguards and alarm systems.
- Plan and prioritize work for self through the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
- Determine needed supplies and equipment.
- Monitor need for equipment maintenance and repair.
- Responsible for proper inventory of materials and supplies.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Drive Bradford Greenhouses’ vehicles, as required.
- Keep current with ongoing changes and new technology and adapt accordingly.
- Lawn maintenance, including grass cutting when required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Completion of a craft apprenticeship (Red Seal), or an equivalent number of years of education in Mechanical or Industrial Maintenance a definite asset.
- Experience working with and/or maintaining the following equipment would be an asset (skyjacks, forklift, loader, welding, acetylene torches, plasma cutter, fabricating).
- Experience working in HVAC an asset
- Highly motivated and able to work independently or as a team productively.
- Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions orally and in writing.
- Ability to multi-task and is open to change work assignments when required.
- Safety minded approach.
- Ability to recognize and accept help when needed.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Able to create alternative solutions to problems.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Willing to work through language barriers.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Able to maintain a clean work environment.
- Approachable / friendly disposition.
