Position: Accountant

Location: Mississauga

Employment Type: Full-time, Onsite

Compensation Range: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00

Deliver the Difference with us:

As an Accountant you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all accounting information by recording, verifying, and consolidating financial transactions, as well as overseeing assigned accounting and financial functions. In addition to maintaining the general ledger and chart of accounts, this role prepares journal entries, completes account reconciliations, and supports various compliance requirements. The ideal candidate is a proactive, self‑motivated professional who takes initiative, delivers results, and works effectively with minimal supervision.

Your Role & Impact:

  • Prepare and ensure timely compliance with monthly, quarterly, and annual operational and financial reporting requirements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows.
  • Complete all month‑end close activities such as preparing journal entries, performing balance sheet reconciliations, and conducting financial statement variance analyses.
  • Ensure all statutory obligations are met, including preparing and submitting Canadian and U.S. sales tax filings within required deadlines.
  • Support the annual audit/review process by coordinating with external auditors and collaborating with internal accounting team members to fulfill all audit requirements.
  • Develop and implement innovative financial analyses and models to support key strategic decisions and long‑term planning, including cash flow forecasting.
  • Maintain prepaid, accrual, and fixed asset schedules, including related amortization schedules.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting-related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPA designation or active CPA pursuit is an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as pivot tables, INDEX, INDIRECT, and VLOOKUP.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional attention to detail paired with strong analytical abilities.
  • Proactive, eager to learn, and able to work with a sense of urgency, demonstrating a strong commitment to team success.
