Structural Engineer/Designer
Job Summary: Our office in Toronto is looking for a Structural Engineer or Designer to assist with growing the office, designing buildings and providing technical expertise to our structural projects in areas such as Life Sciences, Tech, Civic, Education, Mixed-use, and Healthcare.
Responsibilities:
- Design of new building structures as well as structural alterations, renovations, and additions to existing buildings Design
- Experience with a variety of materials in particular structural steel design
- Plan and coordinate projects with Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical consultants and attend coordination meetings
- Collaborate with engineers and drafting colleagues to assemble tender documents and/or reports
- Respond to Client’s request for proposals
- Design and detailing of structures including calculations and computer modeling, for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures
- Perform site reviews and construction administration services during the construction phase.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer with PEO would be an asset
- You have min 3 to 5 years of structural engineering experience (required)
- Experience with lateral models an asset
- You have experience in designing steel, concrete, wood, and masonry structures for buildings with ability to use design software such as ETABS, SAP 2000, RAM STEEL and SAFE.
- Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment that requires multi-tasking
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Comfortable with working at heights and confined spaces at times.
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Travel: Up to 10%
Compensation & Benefits:
The expected base salary range for this role is $75,000 to 95,000 CAD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
This role is also eligible for performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including:

*EDUCATION- premier training programs including the Haag Certified Inspector & Haag Certified Reviewer, plus online and classroom seminars, and reference books & tools including Shingle Gauges® and Haag Panel & Membrane Gauge®.
