We are looking for a Finance and Accounting Intern to work alongside our Finance team aiding in the Accounts Payable process. This position is a hybrid role base out of our Guelph Head office at 345 Hanlon Creek Blvd. This role supports nationwide business operations, with 9 hour workdays scheduled Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Job Responsibilities: Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for:

Assist in reviewing, verifying, and processing vendor invoices.

Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents.

Help maintain vendor files and ensure accurate contact and payment information.

Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and resolve discrepancies.

Assist with internal and external audit requests related to AP.

Help maintain organized digital and physical records for audit readiness.

Participate in AP process improvement initiatives (e.g., automation, workflow enhancements).

Assist in testing and documenting changes in AP systems or ERP upgrades.

Help identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements to invoice processing workflows.

Required Skills: What YOU will bring to this role:
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

Completion of introductory accounting or finance courses (e.g., Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting)

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic formulas).

Basic understanding of invoice processing and general ledger concepts.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation.

Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.

Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders.

Eagerness to learn and take initiative.

Professionalism, reliability, and a strong sense of accountability.
