Who are we looking for? We’re looking for a Greenhouse Gas Verification - Lead Verifier with a strong background in verifying greenhouse gas emissions. This position can be based in any of our offices in Vancouver or Calgary.

See what the power of commitment can do for you. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Being a leader within the Greenhouse Gas Assurance Services group across Canada
- Serve as a lead verifier for upstream oil and gas GHG verifications in Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan. Preparing proposals, verification plans, sampling plans, completing site visits, conducting recalculations and verification reports.
- Managing GHG verification projects for both existing and new clients across Western Canada. Collaborating with junior, intermediate, and senior staff on all aspects of project work, while providing mentorship to junior and intermediate team members.
- Support GHG accreditation activities with ANAB
What you will bring to the team:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, along with a P.Eng. designation in BC, Alberta or Saskatchewan

A minimum of 3 years experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, knowledge of other sectors such as mining, chemical processing and power generation would be considered an asset.

A minimum of 3 years of experience completing GHG verifications or auditing, preferred 5-10+ years of experience.

Strong technical knowledge of combustion emissions factors and fugitive methane emissions.

Demonstrated interest and experience in working and mentoring new graduates and intermediates.

Ability to work in French and support teams in Quebec would be considered an asset

Familiarity with the following GHG programme requirements would be considered an asset:

Alberta’s Technology and Innovation Emission Reduction (TIER), including the Alberta Carbon Offset Registry
-
British Columbia Greenhouse Gas Emission Reporting Regulation (GGERR), including the Output-Based Pricing System (BC OBPS)
-
Saskatchewan’s Output-Based Performance Standards Program (SK OBPS)
-
Canada’s Clean Fuels Regulation (CFR)
-
Canada’s Output-Based Pricing System (OBPS)
-
Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) under Verra
Salary range: $73,000 to $122,000 based on experience and location.
