Position purpose

Working under the Office of the Provost and Vice-President, Academic Affairs, actively contributes to implementing the University’s digital learning strategy. Supports the analysis, organization and positioning of digital education projects. Plays a key role in identifying market development opportunities, documenting delivery models and analyzing the feasibility of initiatives proposed by faculties. Works closely with program administrators throughout products’ life cycle, ensuring operational consistency, strategic alignment and institutional relevance. Helps to establish common frameworks, tools and processes that assist in the development and promotion of the digital services offered, in support of academic goals and target audiences’ needs. Serves as a catalyst in implementing the digital learning strategy by ensuring that projects align with market needs, academic priorities and viable business models.

Specific accountabilities

  • Market analysis and opportunity identification: Analyzes internal and external data to identify emerging needs related to digital training, both within the University and among external partners. Translates needs into well-organized projects. Conducts market analyses to help faculties assess the potential of new educational products. Suggests avenues for development that align with University priorities and industry trends.
  • Operations organization and model documentation: Works with program administrators to define operational parameters for digital projects (target audiences, dissemination methods, length, frequency). Documents delivery models and develops replicable templates to assist with implementation of the models.
  • Strategic partnerships: Identifies, establishes and maintains partnerships with post-secondary institutions, community organizations, employers and other players in various sectors. Serves as a strategic contact for external partners, and participates in negotiations surrounding new partnership agreements.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Enables effective collaboration between faculties, central services and partners to promote consistency in digital projects. Attends co-design workshops and validation meetings with academic and administrative stakeholders.
  • Strategic monitoring and market intelligence: Monitors digital learning trends, educational technology innovations, emerging business models and market needs on an ongoing basis. Incorporates findings into strategic recommendations and project design to strengthen the University’s position as a leader in the field.
  • Performance evaluation and continuous improvement: Defines performance indicators for digital projects. Monitors results and analyzes usage data. Formulates recommendations to optimize delivery models and improve processes.
  • Contributions to University frameworks: Assists in designing frameworks, tools and processes related to the development of the digital services offered. Ensures projects are consistent with University standards and strategic directions. Supports the alignment of practices among faculties and central services to implement replicable and standardized approaches.
  • Communication and stakeholder engagement: Develops communications and engagement strategies aimed at internal and external audiences that are tailored to digital projects. Presents concepts and deliverables in a clear and engaging way to bolster uptake. Assists in producing promotional content in collaboration with University faculties and services.

Knowledge, experience and skills

  • University degree in administration, marketing, economics, innovation or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least five years’ relevant experience in market development, feasibility analysis or project organization in a post-secondary institution or related setting
  • Proven experience in market analysis and economic modelling, including using industry, demographic and behavioural data to inform strategic decisions
  • Expertise in strategic monitoring tools and techniques, including analysis of academic demand, employment trends and competitive positioning
  • Ability to interpret performance indicators and develop financial forecasts as well as impact scenarios for digital projects
  • Strong knowledge of Agile program development approaches
  • Knowledge of partnership models for program development
  • Experience in managing cross-functional projects involving academic, technological, marketing and administrative teams
  • Ability to translate market analyses and trends into practical recommendations on developing digital educational products
  • Strong ability to explain complex analyses in a clear, engaging, accessible way for diverse audiences (leadership, faculties, external partners)
  • Strategic instinct, analytical rigour, innovative mindset and ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
  • Initiative, ability to work independently and ability to multitask
  • Bilingualism — English and French (spoken and written)
