Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Metallurgical Technician to support laboratory and pilot-scale research focused on precious and base metal extraction. The successful candidate will assist with experimental test work, laboratory operations, data collection, and equipment maintenance while working closely with our R&D team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about metallurgy and environmental sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale metallurgical test work on ores, concentrates, and tailings. Prepare samples including crushing, pulverizing, splitting, screening, and weighing. Prepare reagents and process solutions. Perform hydrometallurgical experiments including leaching, filtration, washing, and solution sampling. Conduct chemical analyses including pH, ORP, titrations, and atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and prepare technical summaries. Assist with laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance. Maintain laboratory inventory and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Metallurgy, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline. Hands-on laboratory experience. Experience operating analytical instruments such as Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) and conducting chemical sample analyses. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the gold extraction or hydrometallurgy. Familiarity with leaching technologies and recovery methods.
