**Job Purpose:**Lead production support from 1 year after launch of mass production through to end-of-life production, ensuring ECO's are complete and signed off, regular meetings are held, proper analysis and investigation is thorough and required forms completed. Lead cross functional ECO meetings. Regularly follows up with cross functional team(s) members to ensure task completion. Create and maintain Parts and Engineering Masters (BOMs) and related documentation in the ERP manufacturing software system, PDM and other tools as necessary. The Production Coordinator & Systems Specialists is the PD&T department lead (division specific) for production support issues, Engineering Changes, BOMs and parts as it relates to ERP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for holding cross functional ECO and VA/VE meetings, following up with team members to ensure task and form completion at each stage. Maintains reporting for ECO and VA/VE processes to ensure tasks are completed and timing is communicated and feasible for all departments and functions. Where applicable coordinates directly with all affected production sites. Communicates potential problems and overdue tasks to R&D manager.
  • Develop and maintain engineering masters (BOMs), including top levels, assemblies, sub-assemblies based on information gains from PD&T team members, company data and Engineering Change Orders in accordance with company SOPs, from concept until end of lifecycle.
  • Tracks and actively manages ECO's, working with appropriate resources within R&D to determine technical feasibility where necessary, and with the cross functional team to determine the feasibility of the change.
  • Support the need to create, enter and update all parts within the ERP system database. Including WOLF, NAC, WUSA and providing direction for NGZ databases.
  • Plans, schedules, and monitors the necessary actions required to implement the change, including but not limited to updates/creation of EM's, minimization of scrap, buildout plans, effectivity date, communication of change etc. Works in collaboration with the R&D management to record and analyze the effectiveness of the change process and provide recommendations to management for improvements.
  • Validate EMs for accuracy by comparing materials and quantities to actual products during initial engineering, process, and production runs.
  • First point contact for production issues. Work with various manufacturing, production, fab and assembly teams to review, analyze, and provide guidance to various issues concerns. Provide feedback to design team(s) / management team within the division on R&D related issues.
  • Leads the development, maintenance and application of departmental operating policies and procedures related to ECO's and VA/VE. Creates templates, forms, and ISO documents. Provides clerical support when required for producing or amending procedures, check lists and forms.

Education & Experience:

  • 3-year College Diploma in Engineering, Business, Eng Systems (or directly related subject) or equivalent work experience combined with project management courses or direct experience leading teams or projects.
  • Minimum of three (3- 5) years of applicable work experience in an engineering or production environment with a minimum of one (3) years of demonstrated project management experience or direct experience leading teams or projects.
  • Proficient in ERP systems / Engineering software / CAD Systems / Project Management Software / Microsoft Office
  • Broad understanding of design, manufacturing and assembly processes with experience in metal stamping and/or fabrication.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results through negotiating, influencing and aligning individuals and cross functional departments.
  • Technical knowledge of consumer goods / appliances and associated manufacturing process is considered an asset.
  • Must have knowledge of or have implemented ERP systems.
  • Must have knowledge of Engineering workflow and SOP best practices.
