About the role
Who we are: Lucent Biosciences is on a mission to accelerate sustainable agriculture by delivering crop nutrition that improves yield, soil health and sequesters carbon. Soileos is our first product: a cellulose-based smart micronutrient fertilizer offering higher yields while improving soil health.
Who we are looking for: A value creation, revenue-driven, quota-focused Sales Agronomist in Alberta or Saskatchewan to own and grow sales across Saskatchewan and Alberta. Your primary mission is to close business: converting retailers, growers and agronomists into Soileos customers and expanding revenue within your territory year over year. You will use your agronomic expertise as a sales tool, building credibility in the field and turning consultative conversations into sales. This is a sales execution role that reports directly to the VP Commercial.
Your responsibilities: As a member of the Business Development Team, your success is measured by territory revenue growth. Your primary responsibilities include: Prospect, qualify, and close new accounts across your territory, maintaining a full sales pipeline through systematic outreach to growers, retailers, and agronomists, and converting leads into committed Soileos customers. Deploy agronomic expertise as a revenue tool, providing crop production advice and micronutrient recommendations that build client trust and create a direct path to purchase. Conduct field diagnosis of crop health issues, using findings to prescribe Soileos solutions that address real agronomic problems and create compelling, evidence-based reasons to buy. Leverage deep Soileos product knowledge to drive sell-through across the channel, equipping retailers, growers, and wholesalers with technical confidence to recommend and purchase Lucent Bio products. Plan and execute high-impact client meetings and plot demonstration days designed to showcase Soileos performance, accelerate purchase decisions, and grow the business. Represent Lucent Bio at trade shows, field days, and grower meetings, generating qualified leads, building pipeline, and converting event contacts into active accounts.
You will be a great match if you have these skills & experience: You have a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Ag Business or a related field with at least three (3) years of experience. A masters is an asset. Professional Agrologist (P.Ag.) designation or comparable You have a demonstrated track record of hitting or exceeding sales targets in the agriculture sector: you know how to prospect, uncover needs, and close. All while creating value for the customer. You bring deep knowledge of crop inputs, agronomics, and the latest trends in crop production and you know how to translate that expertise into persuasive, customer-focused sales conversations. You actively use CRM systems like HubSpot or Salesforce to manage your pipeline, track account activity, and keep deal momentum moving forward. You turn relationships into revenue, building genuine trust with clients that leads to repeat purchases, larger orders, and word-of-mouth referrals. You are self-driven and thrive working independently in the field, setting your own schedule, managing your territory with discipline, and holding yourself accountable to your numbers. You are a confident, persuasive communicator, equally effective presenting to a single grower in the field or addressing a room full of retailers at a trade show. You manage your time and territory with precision, prioritizing high-value opportunities, keeping your pipeline moving, and never letting a deal go cold.
Your compensation + benefits Competitive Compensation: Enjoy a competitive base salary plus performance-based incentives that reward your contributions and success in driving revenue growth.
