About the role
A Day in Your Life at MKS: As an Accountant (Temp) at Photon Control Inc., a subsidiary of MKS Instruments Inc., you will support the day‑to‑day financial operations, including preparing financial reports and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will compile and analyze sales and expense data, investigate and resolve accounting issues, and help maintain accurate and effective financial processes. In this role, you will report to the Accounting Manager.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Executing the full month‑end close process with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Conducting monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Supporting AP and AR clerks with invoice entry.
- Preparing accurate journal entries for adjustments and accruals.
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Performing full‑cycle accounting activities, including AP and AR with 3‑way matching.
- Ensuring confidentiality and security of all financial documents and files.
- Completing additional tasks and ad hoc assignments as required.
Skills You Bring:
- 2–4 years of full‑cycle accounting experience.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a similar role within a hybrid work environment.
- High‑volume data analysis with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with multi‑currency transactions.
- Ability to maintain continuity schedules.
- Understanding of internal controls and control environments.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to guide and support junior team members.
- Adaptability and comfort working outside rigid structures, with frequent ad hoc tasks.
- Experience with intercompany transactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), and Power BI.
- CPA designation, active CPA candidacy, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with revenue processes, bank reconciliations, ROU accounting, and inventory close/reporting.
- AP and AR experience.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time.
- Flexible and willing to work in very fast-paced environment where tasks and priorities may change often.
- Excellent time management skills and commitment to meet deadlines.

Compensation: Salary Pay Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year. This range is a reasonable expectation of pay for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience, education, training, operational and business needs and other considerations.
