POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION
Operate a variety of scrap metal machines. Load and Unload scrap metal from trucks using forklift.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent sitting while operating shearing, bailing, and forklift equipment
Some standing, walking, and lifting when in the yard and sorting scrap metal
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Ability to work well with other employees Ability to follow instructions Basic math skills Basic reading skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience running multiple machines
Ability to drive a forklift truck
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
Operate shearing machines
Operate bailing machines Sort scrap metal Load and unload trucks in the yard Operate forklift as necessary Ensure a safe work environment and contribute to a highly engaging culture that fosters safety, continuous improvement, teamwork, and trust
