Role Overview
We're growing our marketing function to work alongside our Head of B2C Marketing person to help build and iterate across new and existing activation, engagement, and retention initiatives for Cubbi as a Marketing Specialist. You’ll be assigned and own initiatives that will show how we show up in the market and how we continue to grow in existing markets while looking at new market expansion. You’ll work hand-in-hand with the team to build campaigns, develop consumer-facing assets and communications, test channels, dig into performance data, and create repeatable workflows that drive real business impact that will act as our ‘best-in-class’ marketing playbook.
This isn't a behind-the-scenes role. It's a build-and-test role that will enable this person to work alongside a lean team to take ownership of projects small, large and everything in between. No agency in the way. No layer of process between you and the work. Just a small working team, the data, our users, our existing tools, and an AI stack that lets you punch well above your weight.
Your mission is to work with the team to drive measurable growth in employee ordering by iterating on existing wireframes and building smarter marketing systems and executing relentlessly. You’ll be expected to ship, learn fast, and improve what matters most.
We are looking for this person to be based in Calgary, Alberta. This is a mostly hybrid role, working from the office at least 3 days per week.
What you'll do
Co-own and own and execute growth experiments across activation, engagement, retention, and word-of-mouth Design marketing campaign assets, comms and frameworks that will inform and ladder up to our supporting partners Attend and be visible at events that will engage new and existing customers across our various partners Build and iterate on lifecycle campaigns across email, in-app, paid, partnerships, and local activation Use AI as a daily force-multiplier — content workflows, segmentation, campaign iteration, automated reporting Dig for signal in the data — pull metrics, analyze funnel performance, extract insights, identify the biggest levers to drive growth Run post-mortems on every experiment — turn learnings into the next test, log everything into our cohort intelligence database Build systems that scale — templates, designs, communications, playbooks, experiment tracking, reporting cadence, repeatable tactics
Who you are
You are all-hands on deck. You want to learn and are willing to dive into all areas of consumer marketing from iteration to execution. You will develop and hone your skills across various functions within the marketing umbrella. You're a scrappy growth hacker. You learn by building, not by studying. Your default loop: read the conversion data → form a hypothesis → ship a small targeted test → log the outcome → move to the next one. You can do this without supervision and with high velocity. You think in numbers and you talk to users — both, not either. You're AI-amplified. You use AI tools as a daily force-multiplier, not a novelty. You'd rather stretch existing tools than wait for new ones. You have heart. You care deeply about the quality of your work. You've thrown out your favorite idea because someone else's was better. You've stayed up late to ship something right because the team was counting on you. You ask yourself "is this my best work?" before submitting things, and you take action when the answer is no. How you do anything is how you do everything. You have hustle. You default to now over later. When you take ownership of something, what comes out of your mouth is "I will deliver X, Y, Z by [date]. I may need help from so-and-so but I'll handle that. I'll reach out if I get stuck." What does NOT come out of your mouth is "nobody told me what to do" or "I was waiting for someone." You're batteries-included. You don't need someone to motivate you. You create energy on the team, you don't take it.
Must Haves
At least 2+ years of experience in marketing or growth-focused roles Strong execution skills and a bias toward action Proven ability to improve marketing performance using data (not vibes) Comfort operating independently with high ownership and accountability Ability to learn quickly, test quickly, and iterate without needing perfect information Strong communication and writing skills (clear, direct, customer focused) Proficiency in HubSpot - being able to set up workflows and monitor data on campaign performance Practical experience using AI tools to increase output and effectiveness (automation, analysis, content workflows, experimentation) You’ve built lifecycle or performance marketing systems end to end
Bonus Points
Experience in Consumer, local marketplaces, or foodtech You can work directly in tools like Canva, HubSpot, Webflow, GA4, Looker, Metabase, SQL, etc.
You’ve shipped creative growth experiments that actually moved KPIs
You’re obsessed with making marketing measurable, repeatable, and scalable
