About the role

We are seeking a Senior Data Warehouse Engineer, Modernization and Performance to lead critical initiatives focused on modernizing data warehouse systems, optimizing performance, and improving overall data process efficiency. This role requires deep expertise in database programming, performance tuning, and enterprise job scheduling , with a strong focus on re-platforming legacy systems to scalable, high-performing architectures. You will be responsible for driving architectural evolution while ensuring operational excellence and reliability across data environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute data warehouse modernization projects, re-platforming legacy components to more scalable, high-performance architectures.
  • Conduct comprehensive performance analysis of warehouse processes, ETL/ELT jobs, and SQL queries to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data models, ETL/ELT frameworks, and integration solutions to support enterprise data initiatives.
  • Develop and optimize SQL and PL/SQL scripts, stored procedures, and functions for efficient data manipulation and transformation.
  • Build and maintain robust batch processes using UNIX/Linux Shell Scripting for data automation, loading, and operational monitoring.
  • Utilize Control-M (or similar enterprise job scheduling tools) to design, manage, and monitor complex workflows, ensuring performance and reliability.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for performance and system failures, implementing long-term corrective measures.
  • Define and enforce data warehouse best practices, coding standards, and architectural patterns to ensure consistency and scalability.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for architecture, modernization processes, and performance improvements.

Technical Profile

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in data warehousing with a strong focus on modernization and performance optimization.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL for writing complex, optimized queries.
  • Advanced experience with PL/SQL for developing efficient database applications and transformations in Oracle or similar environments.
  • Shell Scripting (UNIX/Linux) expertise for job control, automation, and process orchestration.
  • Proven experience with Control-M or equivalent enterprise job schedulers for managing complex batch processes.
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse architecture, dimensional modeling, and performance tuning.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement scalable solutions.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with cross-functional technical and business teams.

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $32.39/hour - $50.61/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits.
