Contract Litigation Review Lawyer
Part-Time | Remote | Ontario-Based | Independent Contract
The Opportunty
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Contract Litigation Lawyer on a part-time, flexible basis to support ongoing civil litigation matters in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. This is a review and advisory role — working alongside external counsel, reviewing AI-assisted legal drafts, pleadings, correspondence, and research outputs for legal accuracy, procedural compliance, and evidentiary integrty.
This role suits a practising litigator who wants meaningful, intellectually engaging work on a flexible schedule — whether you are a senior associate seeking supplemental work, a sole practitioner with available capacity.
What You Will Do

Review AI-generated and AI-assisted legal documents including pleadings, discovery materials, motion records, and correspondence

Verify compliance with the Rules of Civil Procedure (Ontario) and applicable court practice directions
-
Flag legal inaccuracies, evidentiary gaps, procedural errors, and unsupported assertions
-
Provide written annotations and concise review notes for internal use and counsel reference.

Conduct or verify targeted legal research on Ontario civil litigation procedure, employment law, and profession AI regulatory matters

Support preparation of discovery demand materials and evidence organization

Liaise as needed with external defence counsel
What Were Lookig For Required
-
3 to 5 years of civil litigation experience in Ontario with Superior Court exposure
-
Ontario-based — must be licensed and practising in Ontario
-
L1 licence in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
-
Active LAWPRO errors and omissions overage (mandatory)
-
Demonstrated ability to review and critique legal documents with recision and candour
-
Hands-on experience with Law Society of Ontario professional conduct rules — including member obligations, regulatory complaint process and professional discipline proceedings
-
Practical experience dealing with LAWPRO (Lawyers' Professional Indemnity Company) — navigating LAWPRO coverage requirements, reporting obligations, or involvement in LAWPRO-insured matters

Comfort working with AI-assisted legal tools and reviewing AI-generted output for accuracy

Strong written communication skills — review notes must be clear,specific, and actionable

Ability to work independental with minmal supervision Preferred

Experience in employment law, wrongful dismissal, or professional regulatory matters

Experience with document-intensive discovery or e-discovery processes

Previous work in a flexible, contract or advisory legal capacity
Engagement Terms
- Basis: Independent contractor —you invoice through your own professional corporation or practice
- Location: Fully remote — work from your own office
- Rate: Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience — please indicate your rate expectations in your application
