One of a network of provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.
We are currently seeking 1 FTE Medical Secretary/Receptionist, who as a valuable member of the Community Health Centre team will provide medical secretary / receptionist assistance to the Community Wellness Hubs Team, which will provide support for clients with complex and multiple needs in the communities that we serve. The focus will be on providing health care services to newcomer and individuals at risk and residing in areas where individuals are experiencing barriers to care.
The position has a competitive salary, the Health Care of Ontario’s Pension Plan and an excellent group health benefits package.
The salary range for this position is from $41,956 to $50,551 per year. We currently do not use AI to screen resumes.
Qualifications:
- Three to five year’s office experience preferably in a health setting;
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible, organized, a self-starter, and possess excellent problem solving skills;
- Demonstrated ability to perform well under stress and to deal with multiple demands and unpredictable delays;
- Excellent organizational skills, judgement and tact;
- Good knowledge of medical terminology and high proficiency/accuracy in word processing, dicta typing and data entry skills;
- Proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office;
- Secondary school diploma, Medical Secretary certificate or equivalent relevant work experience;
- Demonstrated experience working across all genders with racialized populations, indigenous peoples, individuals who engage in sex work, individuals who are/have been incarcerated, people with mental health challenges, and people who have experienced trauma.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
