Summer Student Clerk Project Engineering
About the role
Non-clinical based summer positions are available for university/college students. We are seeking individuals who are customer focused; team players; effective communicators; caring and respectful.
The Engineering and Plant Services department is responsible for providing building operation services including managing and executing all maintenance, construction and renovations projects within the hospital.
Responsibilities:
The Project Engineering & Energy Department at Unity Health Toronto has an exciting opportunity for an independent self-starter to assist with the implementation of the Sustainability Program at Unity Health.
Key Skills Responsibilities:
- Comfortable using and working with MS Excel
- Work with the Project Engineering team to ensure items are cataloged correctly in the Engineering Library
- Consolidate sets of As-Built drawings (architectural, electrical, mechanical) for the main hospital wings
- Update policies and procedures related to the Sustainability Program including preparing content for the internal and external websites
- Prepare communications and presentations as required to update the key stakeholders on the progress and status of the project
- Prepare communications articles and reports related to the Sustainability Program
- Assist with compiling information that is required for the submissions of various regulatory reporting requirements
- Assist in the planning and coordinating of engagement events to support the Sustainability Program
- Assist with the preparation and submission of grant applications related to Sustainability projects and initiatives
- Recommend areas for improvement for the Engineering Library system
Qualifications:

Must have completed at least one year of university/college and returning to school on a full-time basis in
September 2026

Must be 18 years of age at time of hire.

Strong organization skills with demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work with efficient turnaround time.

Demonstrated excellence in problem solving, and interpersonal competence and critical thinking.

Strong customer service orientation with proven ability to interact with others.

Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment.

Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of the Mission and Values of Unity Health.

Excellent record of attendance and punctuality.
