About the Role:
Reporting to the Clinical Supervisor, the Clinical Therapist is responsible for supports quality and Clinical outcomes to provide efficient and effective provision of supports and services for persons diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. Responsibilities may include:
- Through actions, supports the Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan of Kerry’s Place.
- Ongoing practice adherence to all aspects of the Standards of Professional Conduct, as outlined by the College of Psychologists & Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO)
- Ensures clinical service delivery is in accordance with Quality Assurance Measures (QAM), as well as any other relevant legislative requirements
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with families, partner agencies, interdisciplinary professionals (including but not limited to school boards, justice system, consulting professionals), volunteers, government employees, direct support employees and the community
- Support integration in educational, community and family programs and activities.
- Use Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) principles to design and conduct function and evidence- based intervention procedures, which considers assessment results, supporting environments/contexts, risks/benefits, constraints, and social validity
- Obtains necessary consents for the assessments, analysis and treatment plans, as well as following appropriate storage and retention methods to maintain privacy and security of documents
- In conjunction with the Clinical Supervisor, develop and support implementation of individual behaviour plans and protocols, including objectives, data collection, monitoring and data analysis
- Provide direct support to persons with ASD including 1:1 teaching sessions, and/or small groups,
- Provision of coaching, education and training opportunities for families, direct support employees, Clinical Technicians, and community partners
- Record curriculum assessment results, prepare data summaries, reports and be able to conduct integrity checks
- Collaborates with Clinical Supervisor to conduct assessment of risk along with development of plans to mitigate risk due to maladaptive behaviour of the supported person
- Supports the Clinical Supervisor in the development and ongoing monitoring for all behaviour programming including behaviour support plans, relevant protocols as per Kerry’s Place policy/procedure and mandatory Ministry guidelines for the Ontario Autism Program (OAP), Quality Assurance Measures (QAM) and Child, Youth and Family Services Act
- Work as a fully participating member of a bio-psycho-social team
- Participates in team meetings, appointments, psychiatric clinics and attends Person Directed Plans (PDPs), as applicable
- Ensure the health and safety of supported persons in accordance to Ontario Regulation 299/10 Quality Assurance Measures, the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, and the Provincial and Municipal regulations and by-laws
- Other duties as assigned
Education Qualifications:
- University degree or college diploma, specializing in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Behaviour Science or Psychology or related education in a human services field
- Registered Behaviour Analyst – Supervised Practice is considered an asset
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 year experience working as a professional within a clinical multidisciplinary team with Applied Behaviour Analysis and related assessment and therapeutic skill building techniques (including communications) with persons with developmental disabilities/ASD and their families or caregivers
- Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and evidence-based treatment models and approaches
- Proven practical experience in conducting behaviour assessments, developing behaviour interventions and analyzing data
- Competency and effective use of database and Microsoft Office systems.
- Demonstrated experience working with persons with a dual diagnosis and/or challenging behaviour may be considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of the Developmental Services sector and community resources and systems is considered an asset
- Strong ability to demonstrate support and sensitivity to the needs of persons and families dealing with crisis
- Program specific Clinical experience (Supported Living or Community) is considered an asset.
- French language is an asset
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Must have the ability to complete the Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification, as well as perform the required physical techniques. Training will be provided at no cost.
- Position requires flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- A valid Driver’s License, with a minimum G2 and access to a reliable vehicle is required for frequent business travel and proof of third party liability insurance coverage
- As a condition of employment, employees must be able to provide a Driver’s Abstract in good standing with fewer than three demerit points

Welcome to Kerry’s Place Autism Services. We are Canada’s largest service provider to families with children, adolescents, and adults, with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Since 1974 Kerry’s Place has been creating, and providing evidence-based supports and services across the province of Ontario that enhance the quality of life of those with ASD.

Through the Ontario Autism Program, we provide children and youth - and their families - a menu of timely, evidence-based services needed to achieve their goals at home, at school, and within their communities. This initiative serves individuals with ASD up to age 18, delivering skill-building groups, individual consultation, and family support.
We provide numerous Community Services and Supports, including our day and overnight respite options to provide a well-deserved break for families with loved ones with Autism, along with our many camps and leisure groups.
Our Adult Skill-Building and Peer Support Groups broaden the social circle for every individual we support. Our Employment Programs lend assistance to young adults with Autism to help develop skills that lead to meaningful employment opportunities.
We provide adults with ASD Residential and Semi-Independent Living Supports at 90 distinct properties across Ontario. Our group living approach provides a safe, 24 hour, home environment where residents are encouraged to pursue their own personal goals including outings into the community, employment, and an array of interests. Many of our residence grow with Kerry’s Place, spending upwards of 30 years with us. And through a lifetime of shared pursuits and generational experiences, we too, grow with them.
