About the role

Tayco is currently looking for an ambitious Production Coordinator to join our dynamic team on a 12-months contract to help us reach a new vision. The Production Coordinator works as a valuable member within the Operations Team and is responsible for creating, planning and preparing cut lists for the wood working panel saws as well as issuing Manufacturing Orders and populating the Smartsheet for metal products.

This is a 12-months contract position.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare daily production schedule for Wood.
  • Create, maintain, and ensure execution of the Wood Production Schedule. Monitor production progress.
  • Issue all work orders as per Production schedule.
  • Co-ordinate activities with Production Team.
  • Communicates regularly with Master Scheduler to meet promised delivery dates.
  • Creates the cut-lists daily by following parameters.
  • Collects and formats the data using the ERP system and engineering specials for woodworking panel saw.
  • Runs and optimizes the data sheets using Ardis software to create the cutting programs for saws.
  • Creates the excel data sheets for engineering specials/new products.
  • Maximizes the utilization of sheet patterns to reduce the yield / waste on the patterns. Works on laminate grain patterns.
  • Electronically transfers the programs to panel saw.
  • Prepares cut lists 5 days ahead of manufacturing orders.
  • Works with Engineering in verifying the data entry sheets for new items to the ERP system.
  • Verifies the process of cut lists.
  • Adheres to the production schedule to meet the plant date for manufacturing orders.
  • Communicates any delays to scheduling/plant supervisor daily.
  • Communicates changes for cut lists to panel saw operators prior to executing.
  • Ensures the data collection on excel sheets in precise in terms of cut sizes and edging operations.
  • Prepares and distributes Manufacturing Orders for component manufacturing.
  • Facilitate review meetings with Production Manager and Master Scheduler as needed; updating the status of the current schedule and informing the team of any potential issues while providing recommendations and solutions to achieving delivery dates ahead of impact.
  • Participate with Material Requirement Planning improvements/implementation team.
  • Ensure integrity of Data Entry.
  • Collaborate with Director of Supply Chain on robust inventory planning to ensure responsible cash management as well as ensure production schedule integrity.
  • Work closely with purchasing to ensure raw material and component delivery meet manufacturing objectives.
  • Estimate materials and labour required for production.
  • Updates Smart Sheets as appropriate
  • Manages date changes in production.
  • Prepare and maintain progress and other reports.
  • Processes all required Production related documentation i.e., manufacturing orders.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety procedures.
  • Any other duties as assigned. Duties and responsibilities may be amended from time to time to support efficient company operations.

Qualifications:

To be able to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • A Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in a technical specialty is considered an asset.
  • Experience with cut planning in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to read two dimensional and three-dimensional drawings and transform the data (i.e., cut sizes of laminate board / edging operations) to excel data sheets.
  • Ability to understand dimensions and tolerances on drawings.
  • Strong computer skills: advanced Excel skills required.
  • Database skills (basic understanding of SQL, SQL queries, etc.) would be preferred.
  • ERP system experience would be preferred.
  • MES experience preferred – ability to understand cause and effect.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Proven ability to contribute to the effectiveness of the team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly build relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated integrity/character and the ability to achieve success with integrity.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and solve unforeseen issues.
  • Ability to understand logical processes and be detail oriented.

Salary Range : $60,000 to $65,000 Annually
