Your Tasks:
- Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance (P) on mechanical and electrical systems, including motors, pumps, conveyors, control panels, automation equipment.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
- Make a wide range of repairs to the facility/building, both mechanically & electrically.
- Work on special projects involving production equipment, including machinery modifications, electrical system enhancements, and facility updates, ensuring all work meets safety and industry standards.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, maintenance procedures, and applicable electrical and mechanical codes.
Requirements:
- Successfully obtained provincial trade papers or equivalent, related to the maintenance field with an approved apprenticeship program (i.e., Industrial Electrician license).
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience in maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to operate machining and welding equipment as well as familiarity with vacuum technology.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills in troubleshooting machinery.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems (AC/DC), PLC basics, motors, drives, sensors, and mechanical components.
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic instruments, and testing equipment.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Able to read and follow schematics and equipment drawings.
- Converse and write fluently in English to interpret verbal instructions and to obtain information from others regarding machinery issues.
- Must be able to read and complete written documentation related to the position and the workplace (e.g., service manuals, work order sheets).
- Demonstrate basic computer skills for logging maintenance activities.
- Perform material handling tasks, including lifting 50lbs.
- Must be safety and quality conscious as well as a team player.
