About the role

Overview Here at AMP, we are committed to supporting the energy transition by funding, developing, and delivering flexible energy solutions and helping businesses decarbonise.

Our mission is to create a smarter energy future. We are relentless in our focus on tackling the central challenge of our age – the energy transition.

The size and scale of the challenge means we must continually grow our team, bring in new ideas and new approaches and be ready to push the boundaries. At every level, we are looking for bold, ambitious, bright, and collaborative people that share our commitment to making a difference and we have a fantastic new opportunity for a Monitoring and Response Team Leader to join our team.

The Monitoring & Response Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing the operational status of 55 MTU gas engines (2.5MW) across approximately 30 sites, 1,000 small-scale grid-connected batteries (50kW) across around 1,000 sites, a growing fleet of electric boilers across several sites and our biomass assets.

Working on a rotational 4-on / 2-off schedule with alternating early and late shifts, the Team Leader will lead a team of two Monitoring & Response Technicians to provide continuous operational coverage between 06:00 and 23:00, seven days a week.

The role will involve

  • Reviewing, enhancing and creating protocols for monitoring and resetting all energy asset types
  • Continually identifying and implementing new processes and activities to enhance the value added by the Monitoring and Response team to the business
  • Remotely monitoring engine, batteries, electric boilers, biomass boilers, and other energy asset performance via SCADA and other platforms
  • Identifying, analysing, and resetting faults in real-time to maintain asset uptime in line with Company protocols and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Updating the trading platform accordingly with accurate asset availability/unavailability status
  • Coordinating with on-call engineers and parts stock, ensuring timely dispatch and fault resolution.
  • Creating and managing jobs on our service platform
  • Tracking and monitoring engineer locations via tracking software and CCTV to ensure lone working safety compliance
  • Analysing data and trends – identifying and resolving issues

What we are looking for

Our successful candidate will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Strong understanding of SCADA systems, remote monitoring platforms, and asset management software
  • Knowledge of energy trading platforms and dispatch protocols
  • Direct experience of reactive maintenance on energy assets (preferably MTU engines and battery systems)
  • Skilled in real-time fault identification, analysis, and reset to ensure uptime
