Temporary Regular Part Time
Salary Range: $39.07 - $56.00 /hour
This is a temporary part-time position that is expected to extend approximately until January 5, 2026, and is subject to the availability of work.
St. Joseph's Hospital is a unique ambulatory hospital that specializes in minimally invasive, same day and short stay surgery. We also provide our patients with comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and follow- up care. The Surgical day care Unit is a fast-paced unit that provides perioperative patient care in the preoperative and postoperative phases of the patients surgical experience. St. Joseph's is a unique ambulatory hospital that specializes in minimally invasive same-day and short-stay surgery. Perioperative services ensure competent pre-screening, admission, post-surgery, and inpatient care. Our surgical services include orthopedics, urology, general surgery including breast care, ophthalmology, Otolaryngology (Head and Neck) and Gynecology.
Essential Qualifications
- Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Valid CPR certificate
- One year of recent adult acute surgical experience or surgical daycare experience within the last three (3) years.
- Demonstrated IV skills, used within the past two years
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Ability and commitment to act as a supervisor under OHSA
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced out-patient environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently & within a team environment
- Demonstrated expertise in decision making, critical thinking and clinical problem-solving
- Self-directed individual with leadership abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in French would be an asset
- Administration of BDC drugs
- Certification in venipuncture

Immunization Requirements
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
