What You’ll Be Doing

As the Senior Manager, Employee Development & Engagement, you will be responsible to build, manage and implement key aspects of the Commercial Banking employee development and engagement offer, with a focus on building employee capability through development programs, training materials, resources and tools to support business growth and talent development across Commercial Banking (CB). You will be responsible for engaging with senior leaders and subject matter experts across Commercial Banking, leading and executing on the employee experience strategy for Commercial Banking, developing training materials and resources and supporting change management and communications across our Commercial Banking teams. In this role you will act as a bridge to clearly train and communicate complex solutions and portray Commercial Banking effectively to internal audiences and to help engage existing and prospective Commercial Banking clients through projects and ongoing programs. You will also have the opportunity to participate on broader Commercial Bank or Bank-wide initiatives that impact Commercial Banking teams.

How You'll Succeed

  • Provide Support on Initiatives - Provide input, analysis and perspective to business leaders on the development and implementation of initiatives for Commercial Banking that enhance the frontline’s ability to deliver against financial and non-financial targets. These initiatives support improving the client and employee experience, new client acquisition, growth and retention of existing clients and driving overall revenue growth.
  • Strategy and Skill Building - Develop and manage training programs and learning strategies to build skills and knowledge within our Commercial Banking team.
  • Client and Employee Experience - Ensure business objectives can be converted into improved client experience and business results. When appropriate, ensure that all aspects of People Change Management are considered. Ensure all programs/initiatives aspire to achieve the ideal employee and client experience. Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment. Gather feedback via surveys and focus groups and implement changes as needed.
  • Project Management - Manage several small to medium sized projects concurrently involving complex changes to technical or business environment sometimes with tight deadlines, and competing objectives. Act as an advocate for Commercial Banking employees and clients, providing a segment voice on broader CIBC projects that support their success and ensure a positive experience.

Who You Are

  • You have a degree in training preferably or a degree in talent, business, marketing or communications.
  • You can demonstrate 5-7 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the financial services industry. Experience in Commercial Banking would be considered a strong asset.
  • You’re goal oriented. You have the ability to manage a large number of initiatives with many different stakeholders to ensure timelines are adhered to and outputs are all excellent quality.
  • Your influence makes a difference. You know that relationships and networks are essential to success. You have the necessary skills to interact with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • You give meaning to data. You have the ability to assess data to derive key insights and are familiar working with data to produce reports and executive dashboards.
  • You act like an owner. You thrive when you're empowered to take initiative, go above and beyond, and deliver results. You have the ability to multi-task across many priorities and work independently when required, with minimal supervision.
