About the Kinark Outdoor Centre:
In the scenic outdoors of Minden Ontario, known for its calm and tranquil beaches, trails and parks, is our Kinark Outdoor Centre. As a Housekeeper, you can make a meaningful contribution to the healthy future of Ontario’s youth who attend the Kinark Outdoor Centre.
The Kinark Outdoor Centre (KOC) facilitates a variety of groups including children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families, elementary and secondary schools, faith-based organizations, Cadets, and other groups that have complex needs.
Job Summary
As a Housekeeper, you will be a key member of a team ensuring the quality of the environment to help provide a positive experience. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for safe, timely and thorough cleaning of cabins, washrooms, and large group spaces. As a member of a small team, a positive attitude and strong work ethic will be required. Documentation of cleaning and some light groundskeeping or support of such responsibilities.
Duties & Responsibilities

Work with co-workers to ensure site is clean and operable for all users.

Operate general cleaning equipment and supplies in a safe way.

Ensure clients have a clean, safe, and enjoyable environment.

Weekend work required.
-
Visual inspection of site and equipment.
-
Reporting of safety or aesthetic issues.
-
Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with KOC program and facility.
-
Create and ensure a safe and positive environment for all.
-
Assist in facility preparation and equipment maintenance.
-
Ensure all agency documentation requirements are fully maintained.
Qualifications and Expectations
-
Ability to effectively communicate, organize, relate, and problem-solve with colleagues.
-
Experience working with others in a service capacity an asset.
-
Current Standard First Aid and CPR C and WHMIS training or the ability to complete.
-
Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks with little direct supervision.
-
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including a Vulnerable Sector Screening) and Pre-Employment Medical.

1-3 years experience in cleaning or positive attitude and willingness to learn under a mentor with a strong work ethic.
