Target Start Date: June, 2026

Hiring Min Rate: $80,000 CAD

Hiring Max Rate: $110.000CAD

Job summary:
Drive a culture of Business Excellence and process improvement throughout the Recochem Site. Lead 2 CI Projects annually and Mentor 2 to 7 Yellow Belt / Green Belt project leaders to project completion and certification annually. Deliver the site annualized EBITDA CI savings target through projects led and mentored.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively engage with the business and across functions to identify meaningful opportunities for improving business efficiency. Participate in the monthly Recochem National CI team meetings and share company-wide best practices, set the priorities for business excellence, and identify future projects.
  • Support Yellow Belts, Green Belts and Operational leaders in Lean Transformation Activity / Events.
  • Function as the site CI SME to implement National CI programs and initiatives.
  • Lead by example as an active change agent by managing complex projects and leverage influencing skills come from experience in Lean Six Sigma and project management.
  • Support the Finance team to track the benefits from projects to ensure changes are sustained.
  • Work with site personnel to build the plan to achieve the annual site CI savings target.Plan, organize, and run the monthly site CI review meetings.

Analyze and troubleshoot manufacturing/business requirements including the flow of materials, assemblies, project plans, production capacity, facility design and creation of associated process documentation.

  • Propose modifications to manufacturing/distribution processes to attain better efficiencies. Review SOP’s and other documents as required. Conduct advanced data collection and analysis for process mapping. Develop budgets, cost analysis, and contribute to financial reviews on all CI projects and initiatives.
  • Drive value stream mapping to define “As-Is-Analysis” and the transition to future state. Develop and conduct audits process verification, program evaluations, and reviews to drive results with the assistance of the plant manager and supervisors.
  • Liaises with consultants on behalf of local teams for assistance if required.
  • Maintain data reporting on CI project progress and achievements. Hand-off completed CI projects to operations team. Mentor, train, and provide support and guidance to staff regarding the Lean Six Sigma Processes and techniques.
  • Observe individual performance of designated plant employees to identify training improvement requirements opportunities.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities; Recognizes accomplishments of other associates.
  • Proactively seeks and seizes opportunities to improve the company’s offerings and overall positioning.
  • Develops and refines strategic plans and action plans to achieve declared objectives.
  • Effectively communicates / sells those plans to others, gathers, and incorporates further input where appropriate and then implements action steps efficiently and prudently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent training and experience
  • 10 years’ experience in manufacturing environment
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma experience
  • LSS Black Belt Certified or equivalent training and experience
  • Exceptional communication and written skills in English/French written/verbal
  • Ability to effectively communicate roles and responsibilities regarding improvement initiatives to employees and or contractors.
  • Well-developed skills in the areas of Leadership and Group Dynamics
  • N/A Situational Leadership skills and strong personal accountability to achieve goals.
  • Develops the competency, confidence and leadership abilities of others through effective coaching and delegation.
  • Strong project management experience
  • Strong knowledge of process improvement techniques
  • Training in Lean manufacturing principles and Kaizen facilitation
  • Ability to read drawings and equipment schematics
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify root causes and key input drivers of process deficiencies
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams on large projects
  • Experience using metrics based benchmarking to identify and share best practices and prioritize project opportunities.
  • Knowledge of High speed liquid packaging processes and equipment is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Outlook, Word and Power Point
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • CI Database (Vorne) knowledge is an asset
  • Knowledge of flowcharting software is an asset
