About the Job
We are looking for a Licensed Millwright at our Compost Mechanic Shop in Niagara Falls, ON. Our millwrights perform preventive and curative maintenance on a wide variety of mobile and fixed plant equipment at our site. This position will be reporting to the Operations Manager, Compost and RDO. The shifts run from Monday – Friday with the occasional weekend and/or overtime needed.
What You'll Be Doing
- Inspecting machinery and equipment to detect defects and irregularities.
- Using welding equipment and power tools to fabricate parts during maintenance or set-up of machinery.
- Interpreting blueprints and schematic drawings to follow work procedures.
- Troubleshooting in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and requirements.
- Repairing or replacing defective components using hand and power tools.
- Designing, welding and manufacturing custom parts when needed.
- Performing PMs.
- Exercising good judgement and discretion in prioritizing maintenance repairs.
- Demonstrating a strong commitment to established safety protocols and best work practices.
Here's What You Need
- Millwright license, completion of an apprenticeship program in industrial machinery repair or millwrighting.
- Experience as a heavy duty equipment mechanic (421A) is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to details makes sure work is done correctly and thoroughly. Keeping accurate records.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety and environmental regulations and legislation.
- Able to work with limited supervision and to take discretionary action as required.
