The Opportunity: The Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and reliably transporting medication and medical supplies from the facility to medical clinics and patients across the province of Nova Scotia. This role involves managing dedicated daily delivery routes, ensuring timely pick-ups and on-time deliveries, and providing excellent customer service when interacting with clinic staff and clients.
As the face of Sentrex Health Solutions, the Delivery Driver must demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and responsibility at all times. The position also requires flexibility to handle emergency or rush orders on an ad hoc basis and may be required to assist with customized delivery services at the medical clinic.
A Day in the Life (What you will do here):
- Loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients in a safe, timely manner.
- Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete and the customer is satisfied.
- Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles.
- Assisting with unpacking delivery boxes at client sites as required
- Facilitates the return of packaging material as requested
- Providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling questions or requests from clients.
- Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.
- Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
- Operating equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks and delivery vans.
- Conducts safe vehicle checks as required
- Conducts basic vehicle maintenance as required
- Maintains vehicle in a clean, orderly state
- Assist pharmacy staff with general housekeeping, and other pharmacy/warehouse duties as assigned.
- Adheres to all applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Additional duties as assigned by the manager
What you need to ensure you are set up for success:
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Delivery Driver (Preferred)
- Valid driver's license (Class G) in Nova Scotia
- Must have a clean driving record
- Experience driving delivery van or truck is an asset.
- Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
- Strong time management and customer service skills.
- Ability to drive for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Experience delivering to and from medical clinics or pharmacies is a strong asset
- Ability to drive for extended periods
- Must be bondable and insurable and complete a criminal background check
