Job Title: Cloud Application Architect

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Cloud Application Architect with strong expertise in Java and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-native applications. You will work closely with stakeholders, product owners, and development teams to define architecture standards and ensure best practices for cloud adoption
Key Responsibilities:
Design and architect cloud-native applications leveraging GCP services such as Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, Firestore, Dataflow, and Cloud Storage.
Define and implement application modernization strategies (e.g., microservices, APIs, containers, Kubernetes on GKE).
Collaborate with development teams to ensure best practices in Java-based application development (Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs).
Guide scalability, performance optimization, security, and cost optimization in GCP.
Define CI/CD pipelines using tools like Cloud Build, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
Ensure applications follow cloud security standards and compliance requirements.
Lead and mentor development teams on cloud-native design patterns and architecture principles.
Partner with business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
10+ years of software engineering/architecture experience with at least 4+ years in cloud-based solutions.
Strong expertise in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
Hands-on experience with GCP cloud-native services (Compute, GKE, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, etc.).
Solid understanding of REST API design, event-driven architecture, and asynchronous messaging.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Deployment Manager, or equivalent).
Familiarity with cloud security practices (IAM, VPC, encryption, service accounts).
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
GCP Professional Cloud Architect certification.
Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud solutions.
Knowledge of data streaming & analytics solutions (Apache Beam, Spark, Kafka).
Experience with Agile methodologies.
