About the role

This position has an end date of November 30, 2026, with a possibility of renewal.

**Location -**This role is in-person. Work primarily takes place at Augustana Campus, Camrose.

The Coach position is based out of Camrose, Alberta, Canada and is expected to be available regularly in person on the campus. The role is part-time (average of 14 hours per week) with a higher level of involvement during the competition season (typically August to November).

As a member of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference, Augustana is committed to providing the best learning environment possible for student athletes. To that end we are seeking a highly qualified coach.

Located in Camrose on Treaty 6 territory, Augustana Campus offers a unique learning experience rooted in the liberal arts and embedded in rural Alberta. Home to approximately 900 students, the campus offers undergraduate and graduate programs through the Augustana Faculty and the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine. Augustana provides close-knit, supportive learning environments with extensive opportunities for student engagement in athletics, clubs, and campus life—delivering a small-campus experience with a world-class degree.

  • Coaching and management of the team

  • Budgeting oversight and financial planning

  • Fundraising initiatives and activities

  • Recruitment

  • Student-athlete development (athletic and personal)

  • Team promotion and community engagement

  • Execution of additional assigned duties

  • Compliance with institutional, ACAC, and CCAA policies and procedures

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Health, Sports Administration, or a closely related field (Master’s degree preferred)

  • Successful background in coaching soccer and/or experience as a competitive soccer athlete

  • CCAA “B” Diploma Coaching Certification or equivalent

  • Demonstrated leadership and motivational abilities

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Proven ability to connect with athletes from youth to university level

  • Fundraising experience and related skills

  • Demonstrated ability to build and develop community partnerships

  • Must possess a valid Alberta Class 5 (non-GDL) driver’s license

  • Must be able to provide a recent copy of a three-year driver’s abstract with no more than six (6) demerits and/or two (2) moving violations within the last two years

Salary will be commensurate with experience in accordance with Schedule D of the Collective Agreement between the Board of Governors of the University of Alberta and the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta.
