About the role
Verisk Underwriting Solutions, Core Lines, is redefining our customer experience. Our Reimagine program is focused on modernizing our Forms, Rules and Loss Cost product and enabling delivering through a digital platform, enabling consumption and integration into customer workflows.
The Digital Product Owner plays a critical role in our software delivery by driving the release process and improvements for our Core Lines Platform software regularly, reliably, and with high quality. You’ll work in a matrixed environment improving our development and deployment processes. Candidate will plan, coordinate, and execute software releases. The candidate will be someone who enjoys squashing inefficiencies in a development process, improving the deployment experience for everyone in the software organization. This role reports directly to the Vice President, Core Lines Platform.
Coordinates a global staff with the following roles: Digital Product Owners; Developers; Manual and Automatic Testing; Analytics; Content

Strategy and Collaboration
- Build business requirements and use cases to ensure that the short and long-term content strategy aligns with defined user personas and effectively addresses customer needs.
- Translate needs into strong epics and stories that can be easily understood by the Development team.
- Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap. Ensure that the end result meets what was intended and flag risks.
- Champion end-users and ensure that features deliver customer value.
- Partner with UX to assist in translating end-user needs into new product features for the Development team to design.
- Be knowledgeable about the product, its potential market value, its importance to Verisk and its role.
- Participate in all aspects of Agile process including sprint planning and retrospective meetings to ensure efficient development cycles and prioritized features based on business and customer needs.

Solutions and Stakeholder Management
- Encourage collaboration among matrix team members.
- Problem solve and remove blockers. Operationally coordinate the approach and output of a matrix team of experts, keeping short and long term goals in mind and adjusting as needed.
- Ensure product descriptions used for marketing emails and presentations are legal and accurate.
- Conduct and use data driven research
- Assess team progress as the build moves into each new phase of the creative lifecycle.

Create and maintain necessary documentation related to processes, content, and guidelines.

Partner with other product owners and platform leads to ensure seamless integration into the Core platform.

Manage expectations and feedback, act as a bridge to stakeholders to ensure effective communication of product updates and milestones.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (or related experience) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

4+ years’ experience leading squad and chapter teams in an Agile development environment.
-
4+ years of work experience with content or B2B, process transformation and web platforms.

Excellent project management and communication skills.
-
Experience establishing and gaining cross-functional and leadership alignment on a technology product vision, roadmap, and implementation plan in a matrixed organization.

Ability to effectively document business requirements into articulate functional requirements to ensure alignment on stated business objectives across teams.

Attention to detail and ability to manage complex compliance requirements.

Entrepreneurial spirit and courage to challenge the status quo to develop innovative and focused approaches.

Regular measurement of results and pivoting based on our test and learn strategy.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to connect with senior leaders.
